and the venue is.... Copa

So following on from the last post I popped down to have a look at Copa this afternoon. I think it should work as a venue... Its a private space, we can bring a projector and point it at a wall, the layout will work well with a smaller crowd as well as a larger one and there is free wifi (although the coverage in the downstairs area is a bit patchy - if a presenter needs wifi for their talk we may have to get a bit creative, but given the crowd who will be there I'm sure we can work something out).

So given all that I've taken the plunge and booked it for Tuesday 10th November. I've risked my own hard earned cash on the deposit so you all have to turn up now!!

By the cunning trick of removing the mirror (lhs of pic) we have a presentation space

As far as format and speakers go, a couple of people have volunteered to do presentations, so over the next few days I'll catch up with them and work out what we are going to do. There also seemed to be an appetite to do some shorter 5 minute talks as well, so if you would be up for doing one of them then shout (I may well throw my hat into the ring for one of them).

For those who don't know Copa, (map) its fairly central - I parked in the Oracle and it was about 5/10 mins walk (Not sure if that's the nearest parking - if someone knows better then please add a comment).

Peter - good point..(kicks self) I'm thinking that 1st talk will be at 8:00pm - but have booked venue from 7.30 - so gives us a chance to set things up & for people to grab a drink before we kick off.

I would suggest Queen's Rd Car Park, or you may be lucky and get a free space on the King's Rd.
